MERRILL (Nathaniel1)
was born 20 Aug. 1642, in Newbury, Mass., and died 27
June, 1717, in Salisbury, Mass., whither he removed between
1697 and 1701 (see supra pp. 91-96).
He was a carpenter, and had the military rank of sergeant.
He married (1) 14 May, 1667, Sarah Clough, daughter of
John and Jane Clough of Salisbury. (John Clough and wife
Jane were passengers on the "Elizabeth" from
London in 1635.) Sarah Clough was born 28 June, 1646,
in Salisbury, and died there 18 Mar. 1705/6. Daniel2
Merrill married (2) 23 May, 1708, in Salisbury, Sarah,
daughter of Abraham and Sarah (Clement) Morrill, and widow
of (1) Philip Rowell and (2) Onesiphorus Page, Sr. She
was born 14 Oct. 1650, in Salisbury, and died 11 Sept.
1731, in Amesbury. Children, born in Newbury:
